As Guest of Honor for the 10th edition of Chambon Sur Jeep in the tiny French village of Chambon-sur-Lac near Clermont-Ferrand, Nicole took part in the festivities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Jeep. 

Chambon Sur Jeep is a gathering, similar to a weekend in Moab, where Jeep enthusiasts from around France and surrounding countries converge for three days of obstacle courses, trails, music and food.  Several hundred Jeeps showed up for the event, along with television and print media. 

Brigham Young University graduate Nicole Johnson gleefully climbs into an 11-foot-high beast and prepares for battle.

With her signature mane of dark hair and her commanding confidence—and armed in a helmet and fire-protective suit—she resembles a warrior princess preparing to conquer a world few women dare to venture.
